Made it through Valentine's day

So we were rockin' and rollin' this Valentine's day! Thank you all for coming down to the Cupcake! It was so awesome! I loved it. Now we start to clean up and do some damage control. I don't know about you all but I received an awesome Valentine's day gift! My hubby got me an awesome pink pearl blackberry. I never knew I needed it until I tried it out. Prolly the best gift ever! So much fun! Since I am lacking a camera these days I will be using it to take some shots of fantastic cakes. So don't dismay cupcake fans....... Soon I will be posting cakes so you can get your fix. Cherry Valley Bridal Show!!!!

Hi all! We had a fantabulous time at the show this weekend. I will be blogging about it more later. We have lots of pictures.

Also, on a whole different level was the discovery of these....

Bridal favor beer cozies! Too funny!!!! This made me laugh all day. I didn't get the vendors name on this one. They were super nice people! If I come across the company I will be sure to post. Nothing says class like a monogrammed cozy!

Toward the end of the show my favorite DJ in the whole world, Roger,led all of the vendors in some singing and dancing while we started to clean up. It says a lot about a DJ when after 5 hours of work you can use your talents to make everyone around you happy and enjoy themselves. thank you Roger! http://www.hypersoundsentertainment.com/ !

I had one "interesting" experience. Unfortunately I don't know the name of that vendor. I would hate to get it wrong, When I find out I will post more on her. Apparently, I must have wronged her in a past life or something. LOL! Anywho! Life's to short to be cranky! I will write more later, Beth

Hi everyone! Long time no blog! Between the holidays, computer viruses, no camera and general running around we haven't had a chance to sit down. The holidays were busy as usual here. We are getting ready to settle into January which is usually very slow. Hopefully we will be booking 2009 weddings, taking a vacation and paying some taxes. Whoo hoo! I will blog agan soon! Happy Thanksgiving

Happy late Thanksgiving. Here is a little picture of our fantastic turkey cake. Gobble gobble. We all had a great Thanksgiving here at the cupcake. Tomorrow we have the parade and then the Christmas walk on Sunday. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It's right up there with Easter. Anyhoo, we had a great meal here 23 people total. We wrapped up our dinne with an assortment of homemade pies made right here at the cupcake. AMAZING! Hope everyones holiday was just as wonderful!

armadillo grooms cake

Hey All! This is my version of an armadillo grooms cake. When the bride and I sat down together we had an instant "steel magnolia" connection. It was pretty awesome. She would start a line and I would finish it. I told her I could "do a snake but I didn't have enough counter space." LOL! I totally crack myself up! Anyhoo, I love him and I named him Burt. Why? You ask.... I like the name Burt. So here is his dillo data. He is a red velvet cake, covered in delicious homemade fondant. His deep piercing eyes are royal covered in black piping gel. His particular stance is one of pre being hit by a car. Note the look of pure stupidity on his face. " NO!!! BURT!!!! LOOK OUT!!! ........aw dang, poor Burt. We wont show those photos. It's a family site. Stay tuned for more of our adventures........... Hope you love him too!

Gingy

Happy late Halloween!!!! Here is a picture of Sommer, Gingy and I while we, the kids, were trick or treating. DELICIOUS! Not a whole lot of other news to report here at the cupcake. This weekend we had two weddings. And our normal amount of regular cakes. The camera is still on the fritz so I am awaiting pictures from other sources. Both were beautiful weddings. One in Butler and one at the country club. The highlight of the two was being able to work with one of our favorite people, Dan Nagy. Dan owns the Flower Basket and is one of our favorite vendors to work with. It was a beautiful Autumn day Saturday with great weather and it was a nice relaxing set up at the Mount Vernon Country Club. I don't know if I have mentioned before how beautiful it is there since they updated it. Dan did the flowers for that cake. He is a joy to work with and I enjoy watching him work and getting a chance to talk shop with him. Other news, our computer died. We brought it to ECR and the hooked us up and gave us a loaner until they could fix us up. Thanks Guys! Turns out our hard drive bit the dust. Lucky for us no valuable info was lost.

Since I have no real cakey news to report or pictures...grrrr, how about I chat about my new favorite things? Like.... YOU TUBE!!!! You have got to check out Dr. Horrible's sing along blog. AMAZING!!!! If you have about 45 minutes, and some popcorn, you are in for a treat! If I knew how to link this crazy thing I would. It's five cupcakes in my book.
